Concert: American Idol Season 10 Live Tour in Manila Extends For Another Night

Guess what? Due to insistent public demand, the American Idol Live Tour in Manila extends for another night. Yes, the concert will be back-to-back from September 20-21, 2011 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum! This is beyond amazing!

According to Manila Standard Today:
Such is the clamor for the season 10 finalists of American Idol, that Ovation Productions and Solar TV have added another playdate to their concert tour here in Manila. Tickets which have been on sale since July, have reportedly been snapped up within weeks, convincing organizers to add one more playdate to their Philippine tour.
There are also rumors that the set list will slightly change to give Thia Megia more songs on the said concert (Right now, she only has one solo and a couple of group numbers). The article also mentioned that, "A separate request for a duet between Megia and McCreery, however, is still up in the air."

Very interesting. I wonder who'll get a lesser exposure because of this mix up. I hope it's not Haley Reinhart or Pia Toscano, or I'll punch someone in the soul. Just saying.

For inquiries please visit www.ticketnet.com.ph for the shows on September 20 and 21. For more information and additional Internet booking, visit www.hkticketing.com.

Yep. I hope Haley's exposure won't be compromise because of this possible changes. I love Thia but I love Haley more. I can't wait for Moanin' and House of the Rising Sun!

^I love Haley more too! She's definitely a breath of fresh air, with an old soul, lol!

What are you, are dork? Of course Thia should get more at the expense of the others. And the others would gladly give it up for her. Duh!

there's no need for name-calling, you know.

AEvangelista: I understand that Thia should get more exposure, all I'm saying is I HOPE that it wouldn't affect Haley or Pia.

Anonymous: Yes, no to name-calling in this blog. Thanks!

The thing is, Haley and Pia are already signed. They have nothing to gain from the Philippine show. Thia, on the other hand, could benefit from a good show because some of her post-Idol work could come from the Philippines, just as it did for Jasmine Trias.

AEvangelista: That maybe true, but what about the people who went to the concert for Haley, Pia or for any other Idol for that matter? Do you get what I mean? Personally, that's my opinion.

I like Thia and I have nothing against her, I didn't even say anything bad about her. All I said was I HOPE (just hope) that the mix up wouldn't affect Pia and Haley.

Besides, any other Idol (and not only Thia) would benefit from this show. Case in point, David Archuleta. Everytime he visits the country, Filipinos are going crazy. Can't that not happen to the other remaining Idol finalists? Just saying.

It's highly unlikely that Filipinos have much interest in Haley or Pia since they've got their own girls like Sarah Geronimo and Rachelle Ann Go who are better then Haley and Pia. But they always have an interest in a Filipina who makes it onto Idol.

AEvangelista: I supposed you don't visit this site very often - or at the very least, during my American Idol recaps - because believe it or not, Filipinos who visit this blog actually have much more interest in Haley than Thia. I'm not sure about Pia, but there's an audience for them.

Of course, the readers of this blog doesn't exactly represent the people who'll attend the concert, but there sure are people who prefers them.

Also, HK ticketing is now selling tickets for other Asian fans who want to see the concert. So, there's that.

But yeah, to each his own. :)

i am filipino but I will not go to the concert to see thia. she bored me to death. i want to see james and haley. @AEvangelista - comparing haley with sarah g and rachelle ann is dumb. "pitchy" (rachelle). limited range (sarah). no soul. no wonder you are defending thia like crazy. if you think pinoys are not interested with haley because we already have sarah and rachelle, bakit pa natin kelangan si thia? e meron na ngang sarah and rachelle? tapos we have charice pa.

Personally, I'm gong to the concert to see Haley (especially) and Thia. I just wish both have good amounts of exposure so I won't be disappointed. I could care less about the winner. Country's not my thing.

I watch Sarah and Rachelle regularly via cable, and I much prefer them over Haley and Pia. It's not much to ask Haley and Pia to give up something for Thia. Also, it's not a question of exposure since the fan bases are already established.

^I just wish that other Thia fans doesn't have the attitude like yours. I bet you're one of those "Pinoy Pride" people. You may just be blinded by the fact that Thia is a pure-blooded pinay. I like Thia, but honestly speaking, Haley and Pia are far more superior than her when it comes to singing abilities. I can never understand how one can be so proud of someone just because he/she is pinoy.

If they took the tour to Italy, I would expect them to feature Pia and Stefano more. What's wrong with that? Besides, they already dropped Lauren's "Firework" weeks ago, so they can give Thia something in place of that.

Thia should have the "home court advantage" for this leg of the tour..She deserves it..Others were given the chance in the other venues anyway..

HALEY had me from BLUE. I am watching at the araneta mainly because of her and then CASEY and STEFANO.If Sarah and Rachel Ann were Americans and auditioned, I doubt if they would have made the top 12. Sarah maybe, but i doubt really. Am just being objective. Us Filipinos, with few exceptions, have small soft voices; big belters are those who make it there (Dulce, Jaya, maybe Regine, Imelda Papin, maybe Zsazsa, Lani M. Not a Pops or a Sharon)
