The Voice 7: The Knockouts Part 2

Is it just me or is the talent this season really lacking? Yes, most of them can sing, but there's nothing that pops out of this group. By this time, the likes of Matthew Schuler, Melanie Martinez, Javier Colon, Dia Frampton, and Michelle Chamuel have already had breakout performances. This season, nada.

But again, I digress.

On with the show!

TEAM GWEN

Troy Ritchie
Hey Ya
He started out really well with just his guitar, but the sudden switch to uptempo was a bit jarring. That said, the effort was impressive and he sounded like he was genuinely having fun.

Taylor John Williams
Mad World
His vocals were lovely, but this wasn't something I've never seen before. True, he took some liberties with the melody, but it didn't excite me that much and it lacked a certain intensity to his delivery.

WINNER: Taylor John Williams

TEAM ADAM

Alessandra Castronova
Next To Me
Vocally good, but incredibly generic.

Mia Pfirrman
Human
I didn't like the choppy arrangement and her pitch was uneven especially at the beginning. She connected well with the song though, so there's that.

WINNER: Mia Pfirrman

TEAM PHARRELL

Elyjuh Rene
With You
Look, his vocals were on point, his modulation sounded fantastic, and his runs were awesomely precise, but the performance just went nowhere. There was no build up and his smooth tone and effortless delivery somehow worked against him.

Ricky Manning
Wrecking Ball
Impeccable phrasing and solid vocals. The last part was a bit odd and creepy, but I digress.

WINNER: Elyjuh Rene
STEAL: Ricky Manning (Team Gwen)
